They say there are three kinds of people; those that make things happen; those that watch things happen; and those that say "Hey what happened?!"

From one in the last category to you three in the first category - "Congratulations; I found out late but wow - what an accomplishment!!

hi guys,

just come across your blog - well done! i did the gr11 back in 2003 for my 40th, in 41 days of walking with three rest days at Benasque. fantastic experience - when I got to the end i wanted to turn round and walk back again, but unfortunately had to get back to work. i mostly wild-camped except for occasional huts and hotels to get dry and washed. i'm planning to do the HRP soon, and found your site when i was searching. drop me a line - davidgilbert1@macunlimited.net, if you fancy swapping stories of La Senda.

well done you guys! i did the gr11 back in 2003 for my 40th. fantastic experience - when i got to the end i felt like turning around and walking right back! i did it in 41 days walking with 3 rest days in Banasque due to illness (drank some dodgy water). i camped most of the way, except early on when there wasn't anywhere to camp (vera de bidasoa, for example) and when i got soaked by convection storms - had an amazing one camping at Nuria on the gravel stepped pitches where the eater collected on the terrace and i had to frantically bail out with my mug with sheet lightning all around! drop me a line if you fancy exchanging stories (davidgilbert1@macunlimited.net). i'm planning for the HRP sometime in the next few years, so found your blog when i was searching. cheers. david
